October 1, 2022 – We gave you a sneak peak at this collab on our TikTok a while back, but IKEA’s collection with award-winning house music group Swedish House Mafia officially launched last month with an all-black lineup of home decor and accessories. We’ve got our eye on the limited-edition record player, which is sleek enough to blend in with any modern decor scheme.
October 4, 2022 – Building a mini matcha station like Travis Barker’s is easy with Fellow’s new high-tech Stagg EKG Pro pour-over kettle. Connecting it to the Fellow app will allow you to unlock features like automatic brew, pre-boil options to help sanitize, an adjustable hold mode that can keep water hot for up to an hour, and much more.
October 5, 2022 – Vacation’s latest collaboration with Prince incorporates a little piece of the tennis court into your decor. Shaped like a tennis ball canister and cheekily described to smell like “freshly uncanned tennis balls, Prince cotton sweatbands, cucumber sandwiches, [and] Vacation sunscreen,” we think one of these scents is the perfect pickup to channel your inner Serena at home.
October 7, 2022 – Tom Sachs’s latest exhibit, “Tom Sachs: Spaceships,” landed in New York City last month, urging visitors to explore the historic and linguistic origins of the object while also considering a spaceship’s “physical, metaphysical, and spiritual possibilities.” Earlier this year, the artist and designer embarked on a new collection with Nike (a decade following his first sought-after partnership with the brand) as well as “Tom Sachs: Furniture,” an exhibition that was shown in Chicago’s Stony Island Arts Bank. “Tom Sachs: Spaceships” will be on display at Acquavella Galleries until November 26.
October 10, 2022 – When we remember the late David Bowie, his impressive house on the Island of Mustique comes to mind (not to mention his vast collection of Memphis Milano pieces). Last month, It clothing brand Réalisation Par teamed up with The David Bowie Archive to release a collection of tees and slips sporting iconic screen-prints by photographers like Masayoshi Sukita, Mick Rock, Brian Duffy, and more. We like this particularly eye-catching Sukita slip, which features an array of Masayoshi’s art photos printed on luxurious silk.
October 13, 2022 – If you’re in the middle of a kitchen refresh, we recommend splurging on this handsome cart from Afternoon Light, Ghetto Gastro, and Swiss manufacturer USM. With a modular wheel design that features two sliding drawers, a mid-section shelf, and a roomy bottom cabinet with two drop-down doors, this cart is an especially fashionable way to store your favorite spices, often-used pots and pans, daily dishware, or even use as a mini prep station.
October 13, 2022 – Head to Etsy to shop the new collaboration between the online marketplace and interior designer extraordinaire Amber Lewis. For this partnership, Amber curated lots of handmade holiday decor and entertaining finds to transform your space into a winter wonderland. And although there’s lots of festive items to shop from the edit, like wine chillers and a checker set, we’re particularly drawn to this very sustainable Furoshiki gift wrap.
October 13, 2022 – A full bathroom decor revamp before the holidays is easy with the latest from Baina. Beloved by Ashley Tisdale, the brand unveiled its newest edit in October—a cozy collection of striped terry cloths in blues, reds, and cream. Designed to bring a sense of ease to your washroom routine, these luxuriously absorbent towels for winter are the best way to treat your loved one.
October 14, 2022 – Anyone looking to replace last year’s holiday decorations will want to check out the latest collection from West Elm and Marimekko. Last month, the home decor brand teamed up with the Finnish design house to release a 13-piece holiday collection featuring cozy-looking stockings, ornaments, tree-inspired decorations, and this charming advent calendar to help you countdown the days until Christmas.
October 18, 2022 – Is there a better way to complement your Floyd bed frame than with the brand’s new dresser system? We think the answer is no. Inspired by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe’s Lafayette Park (located near Floyd’s Detroit R&D Labs), this clean-looking dresser is the ultimate way to streamline your entire wardrobe. It is available in walnut, maple, blue, yellow, and beige, and you can mix and match drawers, doors, or open shelves for endless design possibilities.
October 18, 2022 – After collaborating with brands like Lulu & Georgia and West Elm earlier this year, designer Sarah Sherman Samuel launched her latest creative endeavor in October, and we think it’s just the thing to makeover your space. SSS Atelier marks Sarah’s first collection of original and vintage pieces, crafted and sourced mainly from her home state of Michigan. The pieces also pay homage to Sarah’s love of natural stone and oak, materials that largely influence her interior design work.
October 19, 2022 – Single & Fat is a new name in the olive oil sphere that’s setting high standards for ingredient sourcing and production with its just-released cold pressed olive oils. An idea initially dreamed up in the DMs of the brand’s founders, Cristina and Matt, Single & Fat sources its olives from local farms across Italy to produce USDA–certified organic and non-GMO–verified single batch olive oil that’s got a pleasant peppery finish.
October 25, 2022 – Back in October, Gubi revived Rainer Daumiller’s classic Daumiller Armchair for a new generation. Solidly constructed with simple lines and a sculptural form, the hand-finished seat expresses Rainer’s timeless design ethos to a tee. Working with Rainer Daumiller himself, Gubi has brought the original design back in a lacquered golden pine that we think is an elegant way to spruce up your dining room or kitchen table.
October 25, 2022 – In case a bedding refresh has been on your mind, we’re happy to report that new Liberty London printed sheets just landed at J.Crew in time for the holidays. In addition to the very stylish and well-made bed linens, seasonally appropriate tartan tablecloths are also readily available, should you be this year’s Thanksgiving host or planning an upcoming winter fête.
October 26, 2022 – The candle connoisseur in your life will definitely appreciate receiving this collab between Nette and green-beauty guru Tata Harper ahead of the holidays. Inspired by a beloved pine tree–filled corner on Tata’s farm, this limited edition “Into the Forest” scent diffuses invigorating notes of pine, cypress, black pepper, clove, and firm balsam into the surrounding space.
October 26, 2022 – Our Place released multiple new pieces last month, including these very functional cutting boards to seamlessly match your Always Pan and Perfect Pot. Available in Our Place’s signature color palette, each board is crafted from recycled materials and has a thoughtful double-sided textured surface design to conceal knife marks. If you’re set on a board, you should check out the equally new egg poachers, Heirloom Cast Iron Always Pan set in new colors, or Shear Genius kitchen shears.
October 26, 2022 – In case you’ve already started planning this year’s Hanukkah celebrations, we recommend this show-stopping menorah from Via Maris and Sophie Lou Jacobson. It’s made of temperature-resistant borosilicate glass and built to house oil candles (opposed to wax), and its sophisticated design ensures each contour of the material glows when in use.
