Relaxation was the aim of this third-ground bar and library by Austin designer Fern Santini. Opening onto a deck nestled in the treetops, it’s an edgy however chilled-out lair “to lounge and listen to songs, have a cocktail, and watch the sunset, surrounded by a world-course photography collection of musicians who’ve adjusted [the field] eternally,” shares Santini. Together with a robust library of audio textbooks, Santini is smitten with the trippy Kyle Bunting dyed cowhide ceiling. It is visually gorgeous, but it is also “a great acoustical aspect that is effective when the McIntosh MTI100 Built-in Turntable is cranked up a bit,” she points out. A midcentury FontanaArte chandelier, antique Turkish rug, and personalized Shota Yamaguchi desk all buoy the semi-circular bar topped with towering brass cabinets.

To produce a space for entertaining, Mary Beth Wagner turned a previous patio location into an enclosed bar with deep blue-environmentally friendly walls.

When Dallas designer Mary Beth Wagner and regional architect Christy Blumenfeld were summoned back to the home they tackled with each other a couple of a long time back, they have been questioned for home bar ideas to develop a devoted space for entertaining shut to the kitchen area and family members space. Born from an unused patio, the now-enclosed location melds deep blue-green partitions and a showstopping bar. The latter is adorned with geometric-print tiles and “a metallic grasscloth that grew to become the backsplash so as to not take away from the patterned front of the bar,” claims Wagner, who also included brass shelving to exhibit off a gorgeous stash of stemware. The consequence? “Elegant but a tiny funky,” as Wagner places it, “which fits the homeowners’ personalities.”

Also for the Dallas Kips Bay Display Residence in 2021, Yates Desygn seemed to Prohibition-period speakeasies to notify the structure of this bar.

Developed as a subterranean speakeasy for the Dallas Kips Bay Decorator Clearly show House in 2021, this gallery-like bar, rounded out by a lounge and secondary kitchen area, attracts from the aesthetics of hedonistic Prohibition-period haunts. “The star of the room is unquestionably the cantilevered island that features a Cambria countertop. We built it with a structural engineer and it’s so safe that you could even dance on major of it, which is fantastic in our speakeasy setting,” states Bryan Yates, principal designer at Dallas-based mostly Yates Desygn. Even the chains dangling from the delicate light-weight fixture fabricated by Wired Personalized Lighting to the studio’s exact specs “are reminiscent of a flapper’s swinging fringe gown,” adds Yates.
